Sms is really killer app when you travel. Gprs on the other hand suck because of unreasonably high roaming costs. Last year i spent more than 500$ in 3 days during my trip to Beijing. The price is 33$ per meg!!! Unfortunately i discovered that only after my trip;)

sms allows to stay in touch with relatvely low spendings when traveling. 0.40$ per sms is ok comparing to 4$ per min for voice calls. These are roaming prices for MTS RUS. But i was actually really shocked by Singtel's 1.5S$ per sms in roaming!!!

Such prices for international smses force people to look for alternatives. For me ArrivedOk is a best cost saver when traveling. I was really excited receiving an sms from my wife saying "welcome to Singapore" just after i landed there!!! That feature rocks!!!
